George C. Dobson Victor Specialty 36 bracket Model 5 String Banjo, late 1800's, made in Boston, Mass., natural finish, spunover rim, mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard. This instrument is a great vintage instrument for the money; currently has friction tuning machines. The neck is very thin, making for easy playability.
11" Banjo made by Chuck Lee - Ovilla, Texas. Beautiful craftsmanship and playability. "S" shaped scoop, rolled brass tone ring, offset position markers. Chuck's "Woman in a flowerpot" design. These banjos are somewhat rare, and we get excited when they make it into the shop! No. 043.
Other than the fact that the metal on the tone ring and tension hoop needs cleaning and polishing, the banjo is in nearly mint condition. Tubaphone tone ring, and a beautiful curly maple neck. The pot is 100% original except for the head and armrest. According to the previous owner, the 5-string neck was made by Gary Schatti in California. It is in like-new condition. This banjo has a lot of volume and good tone. It comes with a Deering padded gig bag.
We had Wyatt Fawley build a new mahogany neck with torch inlay. Other than some rusty brackets, two of which don't match the others, the pot is in decent condition. This is a really nice sounding banjo. Click here for pictures
